For over ten years Pilates has been an exceptional and inspirational part of my life.
Following a career in dance that took me from my training at The Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, London, via different companies in the UK and abroad to Ballet Preljocaj, Aix-en-Provence, it was a nautral progression to move into Pilates both as a practice and a profession.
I became a certified Pilates teacher with Romana's Pilates having trainied in Paris and New York. At that time, Aix-en-Provence was my home and I set up my first studio where I continued to teach, train and mentor for nine years. During this period, I had the opportunity to work alongside a talented osteopath from whom I received support and advice on certain clients, which has increased my ability to "read" the body. Now back in the UK, I am teaching in Central London and the Tunbridge Wells area.
Teaching is a privilege and is extremly rewarding. I enjoy the experience of working with both individuals and groups. I encounter a variety of wonderful people with varying physical needs. Each class is different from the next and I learn as much as I teach from each person.
Pilates is a wonderful tool, designed to be adapted to the individual. I make it my responsibility, and it is also my pleasure, to teach Pilates intuitively, safely and using the experience I have acquired over the last decade to tailor each and every session to the needs and requests of my clients. I am always inspired to hear from my clients that they are feeling stronger, more dynamic, more flexible, have developed a better physical awareness and, sometimes, quite simply, are not in pain anymore.
I regularly train in Pilates myself. It keeps me strong and supple and feeling bright and dynamic. It has helped me recover from injuries and pregnancy and helps me stay calm and focused when life gets a bit crazy!
